Deva is a post-graduate Computer Science student in Chennai who collaborates with Dass by smuggling unlicensed pre-release DVDs and other small contra bands, primarily through the air. Kaveri, Deva's widowed mother, is dissatisfied with his career choice. Their former business associate Nemichand Seth's son Kamalesh attempts to thwart their Diwali film piracy operations in order to seize control of the smuggling deal through police-backed channels. Following the raid on their hideout, Dass is offered a deal by the inspector in which one of his men takes responsibility for the crimes. Deva tries, but another man, Chitti Babu, who has no connection to the gang, takes the blame.
Chitti later joins Dass's group and befriends him.
